Please join us at the Ulster County Historical Society on March 30th
for their first Historic Preservation Expo.
Find out more about local historic districts and how to get started researching your old house – or any historic property. In addition, representatives from a variety of historic building trades will be on hand to answer the public’s questions about historic plaster, masonry, timber-frame construction, barn & wood window restoration, antique door hardware, shutters, and more.
They’ve planned a full day of information sessions, including Frances Gubler of The Preservation League of New York State who will talk about NYS Rehabilitation Tax Credits for historic properties in her presentation, “Road Map to Preservation.” Ken Follett will speak on “Teamwork in Historic Conservation,” discussing how professional teams (architects, structural engineers, conservators) work on historic structures and why these teams are of value to property stewards.
Who should attend: builders and traditional tradespeople, realtors, homeowners who live in historic properties or in historic districts, local historians, preservationists, and anyone who appreciates the built history of Ulster County (and the greater Hudson Valley).
The Historic Preservation Expo will be held at the Marbletown Community Center
3564 Main St, Stone Ridge, NY 12484
Free to the public. Doors open at 10am and close at 3pm.
